ABOUT US

Founded in 2001 in honour of Dame Louisa Lumsden (1840-1935), The Lumsden Club is an all women registered Scottish charity at the University of St Andrews dedicated to supporting women's and children's charities as well as promoting the arts. Each year, The Lumsden Club admits up to 10 members and to date has 26 members representing 22 nationalities and an alumni network of over 160 accomplished women worldwide. Other than doing local volunteering, The Lumsden Club hosts various sell-out events throughout the year in support of our main partner-charity, Fife Women’s Aid, and other charities of choice. Among many other events, we host one of the largest student-run conferences in St Andrews - The Lumsden Leadership Summit, as well as a crowd favourite - the annual Garden party.

FUNDRAISE

To date, The Lumsden Club has raised over £45,000 within the last seven years in support of various charities. In 2o22 alone, raising money both individually as well as a whole club, we were proud to announce a total donation of over £7950 to Fife Women's Aid, our selected partner-charity.

RAISE AWARENESS

The Lumsden Club aims to support women, children and arts by raising awareness of current affairs, challenges and prejudices and encouraging creativity. All members engage in creative activities, such as taking part in performances or going to book readings, to fulfil the Lumsden Club arts requirement.

VOLUNTEER

Every member of The Lumsden Club takes part in a minimum of 8 hours of volunteering per semester. Any form of volunteering is encouraged, from working with a buddy for Families First to food drives and helping in charity shops.
